Zebra Print Shower Curtain: Put Zing in the Bathroom

Imagine a herd of black-and-white zebras pounding across the African savannah like a roll of thunder. Have that same power in your shower with zebra print shower curtains.

Jungle prints have become enormously popular over the past decade and the zebra print is no exception. Right up there with leopard, giraffe and tiger, zebra prints grab your attention no matter how small its form in home decorating. Small isn’t a problem with a shower curtain, however. Decorators actually find they have to rein in their impulse to use too many products with black and white stripes in the bathroom. If you decorate your room with zebra print bedding, it only makes sense to move it right into the bathroom.

Zebra Print Shower Curtain: Always Choose Quality

Unfortunately, the craze for zebra-striped home furnishings has led to some rather shoddy products getting on the market. Consumer reviewers on reputable web sites such as Amazon.com have warned against a certain line of shower curtains that comes in lime green, pink and lavender. Customers reported that the zebra print bleeds when it gets wet! Whoever heard of manufacturing a shower curtain that bleeds when it gets wet?

Even so, it may be a wise precaution to get a good quality vinyl shower curtain liner to back up your black-and-whites. That way, you’ll have your zebra print shower curtain in fine form for a long time.

One of the most economical of such products available is the Zebra Black and White Shower Curtain by Creative Bath. The shower curtain is constructed of 100 percent polyester and measures 70 by 72 inches for less than $25. Creative Bath also has a companion line of bathroom accessories such as soap dishes and lotion bottles to add more stripes.

One web site offering Dreamy Linens’ version of the striped curtain “fresh, wild and rockin’.” If you sing in the shower, this 72-by-72-inch curtain for less than $40 may put some real power in that morning ballad.

Kimlor, the Orangeburg, SC, textile manufacturer, also has a safari-inspired design in its Zebra Shower Curtain Set. Kimlor’s set features a single panel 72-by-72-inch curtain with a weighted, clear vinyl liner. One customer reported being a little disappointed in the quality of the vinyl liner, however, so this might be a product best seen in a store before purchase. Remember, it’s always possible to get another liner when you really like the curtain’s design. Kimlor also offers coordinated bedding products to match its shower curtain designs.

JoJo Designs, the popular maker of bedding for children, offers a 72-by-72-inch zebra print with hot pink microsuede accents on 100 percent white cotton. The product description promises that the curtain is machine washable, so consumers may be able to trust that this print won’t bleed in the shower such as others. Like Kimlor, JoJo also has a bedding line with prints similar to those of the shower curtain.

And for those who’d like something a little out of the ordinary, Apt. 9 features a brown Zebra Shower Curtain in 72-by-72-inch polyester that’s also machine washable for less than $30. Of all the manufacturers of zebra print shower curtains surveyed, Apt. 9 was the only one to recommend using a shower curtain liner with its product. Three cheers for truth in advertising!
